What is a Gameday Life Coach?

Life Coaches serve as the team chaplain for individual teams or organizations. A Gameday Life Coach

Who can serve as a Gameday Life Coach / TBM Sports Chaplain?

You do not have to be a licensed or ordained pastor to serve as a life coach.

You do not have to have been involved in sports at a professional level.

You do not have to have a son / daughter on the team you sponsor.

You do not have to attend all their practices / training sessions / etc.

Every Gameday Life Coach must be…

• A professing Christ-follower who believes in Jesus alone for salvation
• Someone who maintains a lifestyle of integrity in both his professional, home, and sports life
• Enthusiastic about seeing the gospel permeate the lives of those involved in the sponsored team

What responsibilities does a Gameday Life Coach / sports chaplain have?

• Lead and coordinate devotional times for your team
• Provide personal care and prayer support for the players, player families, coaches, coach families, and support staff
• Inform the coach of any issues regarding players and / or their families which could affect their performance and / or development
• Communicate monthly with TBM through our chaplain portal

Where and when do I serve?

You serve where you are already present. As a dad, coach, or fan, you are already attending and supporting players during their practices and competitions. Find a time each travel session for a devotion. Coordinate with the team manager and coach. We have found most coaches to be receptive to an arrival time 15 minutes before warms ups for a short devotion and prayer time. In addition to the devotion time, we encourage and support you in scheduling regular check ins with each player / family / coach as time permits.
